Parents Reveal their Top 10 Useless Baby Products Do You Agree
Consumer watchdog Which? has revealed the results of a recent survey which saw parents quizzed on the least useful and most pointless purchases they made for their baby – and the results are quite surprising.
More than 2,000 parents of under-5s were surveyed by Which? to discover which items were left gathering dust and which were the most popular. Top of the popularity stakes were safety favourites like baby gates, monitors, ear thermometers and baby sleeping bags – however, surprisingly perhaps, the likes of a manual breast pump, nappy bin and baby hammock were way down at the bottom of the list.
Deciding which baby products to buy, especially if you’re expecting your first child, can be overwhelming, said Which? editor Richard Headland.
Our survey of parents showed some clear winners that will make life with a newborn much easier, and those you can probably do without.
The top 10 list of least favourite items, as voted by parents, is as follows:
- Door baby bouncer
- Baby washing bowls
- Manual breast pump
- Baby hammock
- Fabric sling
- Nappy stacker
- Bumbo seat
- Cot mobile
- Swaddling blanket
- Nappy disposal bin
What do you think? Given half a chance, we could all get a bit carried away with all the baby ‘essentials’, but what did you find to be the biggest flop?
