Pregnancy Stretches You Can Do At Your Desk

Hi everyone, it's Shelly from mummybootcamp.ie here!

I'm 32 weeks pregnant now... where is the time going at all?! I'm making a real effort now to keep up my activity levels, whether it's walking to work, aqua aerobics or prenatal yoga. I try not to beat myself up if I miss a class, but I try to start afresh the next day!

As my baby grows and we both get bigger, aches and pains have become a daily norm, but I'm loving the amazing upside of my baby squirming around high-fiving and playing footie in my belly all day! Nothing beats that feeling! As I sit at a desk during my working day, I have put together a couple of safe stretches that you can do at your desk at anytime during the day to relieve any niggles when that ache kicks in. If you are desk bound, you should definitely give them a go too!

Desk Stretches:

Take 10 to 15 mins out of your day to give you body some love! You'll feel so much better for it. Torso Stretches: I constantly have growing pains in my sides/ribs, so the relief I feel from a good slow stretch is amazing. I do these multiple times a day as they provide great relief! Breathe in as you raise your arms. Hold at the top for 6-10 secs and exhale on the way down! Repeat x 3 (as many times as you need daily)

Side Stretches: This will help ease any tension in your neck and shoulders and will give you an energy burst. Holding onto one side of the chair. As you breathe in as you extend and raise your right arm slowly until you are fully stretching your right hand side. Repeat on left hand side.

Torso Twist: This is a great one for when you are feeling low in energy.Sitting with your feet planted on the ground, raise your arms to should height and twist your body from left to right pivoting from the waist.

Chest, Shoulder & Arm Stretch: Bring your arms behind your back and cross them. If you cant reach this far just clasp your hands behind your back. We can also do this arm stretch.
