Where would your teeth be without your gums? Healthy gums are vital for a healthy mouth and healthy teeth.

We know it can be hard sometimes to keep up a good oral health care routine with our modern day busy schedule, but it’s super important to take care of your mouth for healthy gums and teeth. Here’s a quick daily routine for you to follow to help keep those gums healthy:

In the Morning

Start your daily oral health routine with flossing before brushing. The benefits of flossing are that it gets between teeth where your toothbrush can’t. Once your teeth are nicely flossed, proceed to brushing and notice the extra clean feeling use a mouthwash to help protect your gums by removing plaque

In the Afternoon

If you are at work or out and about, consider trying to brush during the day in addition to the evening and morning clean. Try to find a few minutes to brush your teeth. Simply carry a spare toothbrush and a travel size toothpaste in a zip-lock bag, pop it in your handbag or keep it in your desk. Ideally wait an hour after eating to brush, as brushing straight away after eating can damage your tooth enamel.

If for whatever reason you can’t brush during the day, try rinsing with mouthwash.

In the Evening

The recommendation is to brush at least twice a day for two minutes. Are you brushing for the full two minutes? The evening time, when you aren’t rushing to get to work etc, is the perfect time to time yourself and make sure you are getting your full two minutes.

Once you’ve had all your meals and drinks for the day, brush your teeth and use your mouthwash for the last time right before bed.

To keep your gums nice and healthy, we recommend these 3 products:

For Treatment:

Corsodyl® Treatment Mouthwash
Corsodyl 0.2% w/v mint/aniseed mouthwash contains chlorhexidine digluconate. The antibacterial action of the formulation means it can attack and kill the plaque bacteria that cause gum disease. Corsodyl® Toothpaste
It is proven to help stop bleeding gums and reduce plaque. It has a unique taste provided by the mineral salts and herbal extracts, so use for at least two weeks to adapt to its unique flavour.

For Prevention:

Corsodyl® Daily Mouthwash
It is alcohol free and has a dual action formula. It contains fluoride to strengthen teeth and prevent decay and 0.06% chlorhexidine digluconate to help keep gums healthy. Corsodyl® Daily Mouthwash also helps reduce bad breath-causing bacteria and has a pleasant minty taste.

Corsodyl 0.2% w/v mint/aniseed mouthwash contains chlorhexidine digluconate. Always read the label/leaflet.
