Popular YouTube Family Share Beautiful Positive Birthing Video

It's not every day you get to have an at home water birth in the basement of your family home, so why wouldn't you capture the event on film?

That's exactly what popular YouTube family, The Michalaks, have done. The family, who vlog their lives, creating stunningly beautiful videos, captured the deeply personal and intimate moment on camera, and have created a beautiful video, highlighting just how positive the birthing experience can be.

The family, who live in Bath in the U.K., have over 30 Million views on their YouTube channel and have been uploading videos since 2012.

Blogger and YouTuber Hannah has spoken openly on her blog about her anxieties around pregnancy and giving birth, after she experienced severe anxiety and hormonal issues when she had her first baby, Grayson.

As well as that, Hannah has previously, and very bravely, shared the grief and sadness she experienced after suffering a miscarriage last year. Her openness was commended by the blogging community, including author and YouTuber Giovanna Fletcher, as her honesty contributed to helping open up the conversation around miscarriage, and break down the stigma.

In a heartfelt blog post on the subject, Hannah wrote openly about her struggles after the miscarriage, saying:

"I felt like my own mind was driving me insane, I literally felt like I was going crazy, and that feeling wouldn’t go away no matter what I did or how I attempted to distract myself. You’d think taking care of my 2 year old son Grayson would be a great distraction - but it only solidified how much I desperately wanted more children."

"All I wanted was to have a break from thinking about it, it’s like I was just torturing myself, and I really didn’t know how to change the way that I thought about it. I thought that with time, these feelings would fade, but months went on, and they didn’t. I would still randomly burst into tears because of it. I desperately wanted to not feel that way, and I got to the point where I wished that I didn’t even want another child so that all these feelings would just disappear and I could feel normal again."

Hannah and husband Stef announced they were pregnant with their rainbow baby this February in yet another fantastic, beautifully shot, and witty video

A Positive Birthing Video

In their newest video, we see the family prepare for the impending arrival. On their YouTube channel, dad Stef described the experience, saying:

"The whole birth was such an incredible experience and way beyond what we could have hoped for. We'd like to thank all the NHS midwives that have been beyond excellent. We'd also like to thank Grandma for all her help and support over the past few weeks, we don't know how we would have done it without you. And last but by no means least our friend and hypnobirth teacher Siobhan from thepositivebirthcompany.co.uk."

"Thanks to Siobhan's hypnobirth training we managed to turn something that most people fear into one of the most positive and exciting experiences of our lives. Having her at our birth was a total honor and something we'll always be eternally grateful for."

Massive congratulations to the couple and big brother, Grayson. We're looking forward to seeing more beautiful videos over the coming months! And are excited to see what name they give the new arrival.
