Top 10 Baby Boy Names Inspired By Superheroes

1. Bruce

Possibly one of the most iconic superheroes that has even been created, Batman is still as popular as ever with Ben Affleck the newest reincarnation. The man who dons the suit, Bruce Wayne, is a multi-millionaire who saves the citizens of Gotham city. Bruce derives from a Scottish surname.

2. Bucky

Bucky Barnes has seen a lot of screen time in cinemas recently as the on/off best friend of Captain America, portraying both a villain and a hero – The Winter Soldier.

3. Freddy

The leader of the infamous Mystery Inc., Scooby-Doo’s straight-laced pal Fred and the rest of the mystery-solving gang were created in the late 1960s as a children’s cartoon. Fred fittingly means “peaceful leader”.

4. Hank

Hank Pym is the original creator of the Ant Man suit, which can be seen in the recent movie of the same name. Played by Michael Douglas, Hank discovers a way to shrink his body to the size of an ant. The name Hank has always proven a popular name in America, where it comes from the name Henry.

5. Leonardo

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have enjoyed major success since their inception in 1984 as a comic book which featured four brother turtles who fought crime in Manhattan. Leo, as their leader, is calm and tends to often be the voice of reason. He is named after the artist behind the Mona Lisa, Leonardo da Vinci.

6. Logan

AKA Wolverine, is a hot-tempered member of The X-Men who is so famously played by Hugh Jackman in movies of the same name. The name Logan interestingly means "little hollow" in Scottish Gaelic.

A member of The X-Men, Warren Worthington is better known as Angel. He has the ability to fly, thanks to his huge wingspan. The name Warren simply comes from its name for an animal enclosure.
