10 Exquisite Celtic Baby Girl Names You Will Love

1. Aifric

An unusual Celtic name which means “Pleasant” in Ireland. Not common but incredibly beautiful.

2. Ailis

A very cute Irish form of Alice and although it is a gentle sounding name, it means “Powerful”.

3. Cara

Although it is Celtic, it has Italian connections and means “Beloved”.

4. Erin

This is my favourite on the list and is taken from the Irish Eire and is often a Celtic name that is used in the US and Britain.

5. Maeve

Meaning “She who intoxicates”, it is quite a popular name among the Irish and Scottish population but is quite often spelled Maedhbh or Maebh in Ireland.

6. Moya

Another one with Mediterranean connections but more so with Spain, Moya means “Exceptional”.

7. Neala

Doesn’t this sound really cute? It wasn’t one I had really heard of but I do like the sound of it and it means “Champion” which is also nice!

8. Olwyn

This one is Celtic but has quite strong ties with Wales rather that Ireland. It sounds kind of “Lord of the Rings-ish” to me and means “White Footprint”.

9. Rhiannon

Gaining popularity in Ireland but originally a welsh name, it means “Great Queen”.

10. Shayleigh

One of the more unusual and unheard of names on the list, Shayleigh means “Gift”.
