5 Staples You Need For Your Spring Wardrobe

Despite our Irish weather being rather temperamental these days, it’s still good, for when the sunshine does grace us with it’s wonderful presence, that we have some Spring staples sitting in our wardrobes.

Minimalistic wardrobes are key to getting ready quickly but still stylishly, as you have your go-to pieces for when ever the right weather comes about.

Here’s 5 items I would always have in my wardrobe in spring:

1. A Mac/Trench Coat

Whether that’s a nice tailored neutral trench coat, or a bright coloured rain mac, what ever your style, these light jackets are key in Spring. I love wearing a beige mac with jeans and sneakers in the day and it suits evening wear too.

2. Neutral Flats

The slightly warmer weather means I’m not dependent on boots, so I always have a pair of nude flats at the ready. Tassels are on trend and so are these lace ups that are making a come back from last Spring/Summer. Wear with your favourite jeans, top and a blazer for a cute and casual look.

3. Ripped Jeans

Get edgy with your jeans and have a ripped pair in your wardrobe. They’re a step up from a plain pair when you’re feeling more adventurous, and look great day or night. Don’t just stick to denim though, I love them in white and black too!

4. Tanks & Tees

I’ll always have tank tops and t-shirts in various basic colours; white, dusty pink, navy, grey etc, to have as a go-to staple. Buying them in nice fabrics like soft cotton or silk means you can dress them up easily too.

5. Patterned Blazer

As well as a couple of plain blazers, I will always be drawn to getting a patterned/floral blazer when Spring rolls around just to add a bit of a kick to an outfit. They’re great for wearing to work or adding a little structure to your look and can really lift your jeans and t-shirt to a new level!
