5 Family Christmas Events Not To Miss!

No matter how hard you try, you can’t hide from it anymore: The time has come to accept that Christmas is coming. Whether you’re a Scrooge or a Santa lover, there is no need to panic, however. There are events around the country designed to bring the true magic of the season into your children’s lives. 

Here are just some of them:

1. Winterval

Get down to Ireland’s capital of Christmas for the annual Winterval festival in Waterford. This month-long extravaganza will get you off to the perfect start for the season. The Christmas Market is full of lovingly crafted gifts for you to buy for loved ones or yourself, and there are plenty of seasonal treats on offer for you to sample. Then it’s on to the most important part - Santa’s Grotto. Beautifully crafted and attended by friendly elves, the grotto is the perfect place to meet the big man himself. Just be sure you’re on the “Nice” list! 

2. Santa’s Magical Winter Wonderland

Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and their friends from Beauty and the Beast are all at Malahide Castle this Christmas to get you into the festive spirit. On arrival at the spectacular castle, the jolly elves will bring you to see Mrs. Claus by the roaring fire, who will welcome you before you enter the Oak Room. Here, Santa himself will be waiting to chat with the little ones and surprise them with presents.
