Why The Kodiaq Is The Best 7 Seater Car
This is one family car that stole our hearts in so many ways! The Skoda Kodiaq is the answer to those many niggling issues that you have to consider when you start looking at 7 seater cars.
Here is why we think it is the best car for your growing family. It’s multi-functional and capable of doing many things at once, sound like anyone you know?
1. It’s super easy to make it a 7 seater
You may not always need 7 seats, but when you do use that third row, you want it to be suitable for real sized humans and still have some useable boot space. What is more, you want to be able to pop-up those seats in a second, perhaps with just one-hand. We found this easy with the Kodiaq. Plus all seats have a proper headrest and their own storage bins. And, when not using seat 6 and 7, you have a truly massive boot!

2. It looks like a sporty SUV
You might be willing to sacrifice good-looks because your 7 seater or MPV provides you with the space that your family needs, but you don’t have to with the Kodiaq. The exterior is sporty and looks stunning, like a 4x4.
Inside the cabin is spacious and filled with more than 40 of Skoda’s famous ‘Simply Clever’ features.
3. ‘Simply Clever’ features to make your life easier
Ok, I have to admit it, these features really made us fall for the Kodiaq in a big way! They’re the kind of features that you might not have thought of before, but once you see them in action you think, ‘Wow!’ They just make your life easier.
The boot light is a magnetic and rechargeable torch that can be taken out and used or attached to the outside of the car if needed.
There is underfloor space in the boot to store the luggage blind when you’ve folded the back seats.
A windscreen ice scraper is tucked into the fuel flap.
Easy access to two umbrellas in the front doors.
The doors have little plastic edge protectors that pop out each time they’re opened. (See video above) So handy with busy kids!
In the rear-seats, there are rear door sun shades, electric child locks, a set of two blankets and special rear-seat headrests designed to provide maximum comfort on long trips.
4. The kids (and adults) will love the techy gadgets
No one want to see their kids plugged-in 24-7, but on long journeys handy gadgets can be a life-saver. The Kodiaq has lots of clever features in this department, such as on-board wifi, USB charging and cradles in the headrests that will hold a screen of any size. In car infotainment means front-seat passengers can transmit their voice to rear-seat passengers.
You can also adjust the temperature to different settings for back seat passengers to front seat passengers.
5. It’s fun to drive
The Kodiaq is not a plodding family wagon. I don’t know how, but for all the interior space & the 4x4 exterior, this car feels breezy on the road, giving an enjoyable smooth ride. It has the elevated seating of an SUV, so you have that wider view of the space around you that is so helpful if you’re manoeuvring through tight streets or car parks.
So that’s why the Skoda Kodiaq wins our vote as the best 7 seater available right now!
It’s safe and comfortable but anything but boring. It’s well-crafted with lots of clever bits of technology and little touches to make your family life that little bit sweeter.
Best of all, it’s all delivered with Skoda’s exceptional promise for delivering premium value meaning the Kodiaq punches well above its weight in terms of similar SUV models. For pricing and model specs, check Skoda Ireland here.
