5 Ways To Make Time For The Important Things In Life

We all live incredibly busy lives in the year 2017. We are social animals, both online and off, always doing, always going, always cramming more and more into our days. It doesn’t mean you have to spend hour upon hour meditating, or practicing yoga (even though both of these are great self-care practices!), there are many more everyday things you can do to take care of yourself. Finding the time is the key! Little things like using an in-shower moisturising lotion, instead of having to spend time doing it post-shower. Or using the time on your commute to practice some mindfulness meditation, there are so many Apps and YouTube videos available on this topic, you’ll be spoiled for choice! You could even go as far as coordinating your next smear test with your child’s next GP appointment! It’s all about making sure you’re finding the time to take care of yourself, amongst the hustle and bustle of family life.

3.    Keeping The Connection Alive

Relationships are so important, both friendships and romantic relationships. Humans thrive on personal connections, touch, interactions and conversations. They do say the benefits of a hug are never-ending! From calming nerves to boosting the immune system. The power of touch is not to be scoffed at. With friends, a really simple way of keeping connected is with a WhatsApp group. Perfect for keeping everyone in the loop, quick and easy. But don’t just keep things online. Make sure to arrange regular meet ups too!

With your partner, spending time together “off duty” is vitally important. It’s easy to get completely engrossed in your role as parents, almost forgetting that you were lovers first and foremost! Whether it’s a fortnightly date night, a monthly night away, or even a midweek lunch date, making the effort now and it wall stand to your relationship in the future.

4.    The Home Life Admin

There’s so much to take care of to keep a household running. From bills and new kitchen appliances, to mortgages and renovations, it’s a never-ending responsibility!
