Get Ready for a Summer Full of Toddling Fun
This summer, thousands of toddlers across Ireland are going wild to raise funds with the 2016 Big Toddle for Barnardos, sponsored by Toddlebox! And we want you and your little ones to be part of the fun!
The Big Toddle is a fun way for toddlers to support the vital work that Barnardos does, with more than 11,300 children and families in communities across Ireland. This year, a number of family attractions around the country are holding Big Toddle events and are inviting Ireland’s youngest fundraisers (and their families!) to come along and take on the challenge to help children their own age.
Open farms in Cork, Limerick, Dublin and Westmeath will be hosting the perfect family fun day out this June. Come along to tour the farm and meet the animals, enjoy the Big Toddle craft activities, and then limber up at the start line as you get ready to take part in the Big Toddle walk itself.
What’s more, you and your little ones will be making a HUGE difference to the lives of vulnerable children all over Ireland. On the surface, the toddlers Barnardos works with are like any other pre-schooler. But these are some of the most vulnerable children in society; children who have to struggle with the effects of poverty, neglect and abuse.
These circumstances are hard enough for adults to deal with, so you can imagine how much more difficult it is for a child. They find it harder to manage their emotions; to interact with adults and other children; to make friends; to learn literacy and communication skills – all the things that will help them get the most out of school.
Barnardos is there to help them change their lives and achieve their full potential but it can’t be done without your help. So bring the family along to a Big Toddle for Barnardos event this summer, enjoy a family day out together, and help change a child’s life. This article was written by Barnardos for eumom.ie
