Product Recall: Do You Own One Of These Baby Bouncers?
Mothercare has issued a recall on a faulty baby bouncer after a 10-week-old baby slipped through the bouncer, leaving a dent in his head.
Kelsea Hutson, from the UK, said that her son was sitting in the ‘Loved So Much’ bouncer when he slipped through, hitting his head hard on the laminate flooring.
After calling for an ambulance and taking her son to hospital, he was thankfully okay, but has been left with a dent in his head, which will hopefully reshape at around one to two years of age.
Mothercare has apologised to the family and has released the following statement:
‘Mothercare is undertaking a voluntary recall of the Mothercare 'Loved So Much' bouncer due to a risk of injury when using a bouncer that has been assembled incorrectly’.
‘In the event of incorrect assembly there is a risk that the fabric seat unit could become detached from the frame, which could result in a child falling through.
‘This bouncer was sold in Mothercare stores and on the Mothercare website.’
Only bouncers with a batch date of 12/2015 onwards and with a barcode ending in 843611-3 are affected by this recall.
If you own one of the bouncers, the company advises you immediately stop using it and return the product to a Mothercare store for a full refund.
