Baby’s Development – Week 43

Think you’re pulling the wool over your baby’s eyes by hiding objects from her? Your little Einstein is a lot sharper than you might give her credit for, determinately finding objects that you thought you had smartly hidden in your hand or behind your back.

Feeding issues

Babies’ food preferences and feeding skills go through stages and phases, just like the rest of their development. You have mastered the introduction of solids, where your primary goal was to get your baby through the transition from liquids to solids, and from sucking to chewing. Now is the time to concentrate on chewing and swallowing different tastes and textures.

Yeast infections in babies

Yeast infections often appear after your baby has been treated with a round of antibiotics. Thrush appears on the tongue and mouth, looking like dried milk, while a yeast nappy rash is bright red, often with small red pimples at the rash edges. A good quality probiotic is a must for babies on antibiotics, but your GP might administer additional treatments.

Apps for moms

Moms are multi-tasking, busy creatures by habit and help is always appreciated. You’ll find a large amount of helpful and handy apps on the market such as baby monitor, baby photo and diet and fitness apps. Get Googling and take your pick.
