Baby’s Development – Week 24
Your little girl is becoming receptive to familiar phrases and words like, ‘hi’, ‘bye bye’ and ‘no’. Babies thrive on repetition, so try to repeat some of these phrases throughout the day – before you know it, she’ll be mouthing the words along with you.
Your baby’s first taste of food
Your baby is about to taste her first bite of food – a very exciting time for parent and baby!
Tips for baby nutrition
Mashed avocado is a great first food for your baby. Considered to have one of the highest nutritional value of any fruit, it’s high in protein, fiber, niacin, thiamin, riboflavin, folic acid, and zinc. She’ll be sure to love the creamy, soft texture. Starting your baby’s healthy eating habits early on will help her to develop a life-long healthy eating habit.
Your baby and the sun
Your baby’s skin is super sensitive and is more prone to burning than adults. With thinner skin and an underdeveloped store of melanin, your baby’s skin needs extra protection in the sun. So when the weather hots up, be sure to use a baby-friendly, high spf on any exposed area of skin. Also, don’t forget the sun hat!
Swimming with your baby
Swimming can be a wonderfully fun and bonding exercise for mom or dad and baby. It's also great to get them comfortable with water early on, rather than learning to swim from scratch later on.
