Real Mum Baby Diary

Mother of four Laura Doyle has been updating us on her baby daughter Milla’s progress on a weekly basis. Find out how Milla is doing at 18 weeks.

Milla - Week 18

Milla is feeding about every three to four hours during the day and it can be every hour at night, this week.

Again, I spoke too soon! Milla went from sleeping amazingingly well last week to the worst she has ever slept this week. She is still going down for the night at about 7.30pm, but where before she would sleep until 11.30/12, she is now waking twice before I even go to bed. She is waking on the hour just for a little hold and then she goes back down.

There is a fourth month sleep regression that some babies can go through, and I’m praying it’s not that. She has a blocked nose this week, and I’m thinking (hoping) that’s what is waking her.

She has definitely found her voice this week. She is making the most adorable sounds and laughs. She loves to make lots of little noises, wait for you to respond and then make some more, as if it’s a real conversation. She has also decided she hates being flat on her back, she loves to be in her chair or upright on my lap, so she can keep an eye on her sisters.

Something New

Milla is really aware of what’s going on around her this week. When she is sitting in her chair she is following her siblings and turning her head. She is thrilled when they catch her eye and she is kicking her legs and full of chat and laughs for them.
