Hi there,

Was heading to a hen for the weekend and decided to to a PT to check I wasn't pregnant and guess what...here I am!! Just wondering if there is anyone else out there due the same time as me. My EDD is October 1st. (Still getting use to figuring these abbreviations out [;)]) I'm a first timer so haven't a clue what I should be doing at this stage re hospitals and consultants and the like...anyone any suggestions? Should I be booking a scan? Anyone heard of the Domino scheme?

Hi Dee Dee - congratulations - I am due early March - it doesnt seem that long ago since our thread started - the best thing to do is make an appointment with your gp to start with - i am doing the midvives clinic which i am delighted with - it is my second pregnancy i went privte with my first as I dont think this scheme was on the go then but i would recommend the midwives clinic 100% - but it does depend on where you live - your gp should be able to advice. Best of luck - Dee

[HI Dee,
I've a 4 month baby and just discovered today I am pregnant again!!! I'm not sure how to take it! I'm shocked! Anyway, it's a blessing as we were nearly 3 yrs waiting for our little baby so looks like I'm going to be very very busy. I'm just planning on heading back to work next month and imagine that work will be horrified when they learn of my news in a few mths time- anyway I'll just have to cross that when it comes. Congrats to you and good luck - go to your GP and book your consultant and the rest is just a case of waiting and enjoying it all.

Hi Deedee and congratulations. I'm due late July with no. 2, have a dd who will be one in two wks. I can't believe there's an Oct club already, time is flying.

Sailing I know you must be in shock but you really are blessed. We started trying for baby no. 2 5 wks after our dd was born. Unfortunitly we had a m/c last Aug,dd was 6mths old at the time so there would've been a similar age gap had the pregnancy continued. It was a very difficult time but now thankfully I'm almost 14 wks on baby no.3. I still think of my little angel every single day.

Ladies remember to get as much rest as you can, especially you sailing. I didn't listen to people when I was pregnant the first time but now I rest as much as I can, not that it's much with a very active 11 mth old but I wouldn't change a thing. Hope ye have h&h pregnancies.

Hi Dee, Sailing and Shera,

Congrats to you all on the fab news - even if it is a bit of a shock (especially for me!)! Thanks so much for all the advice. Visited the doc on Monday but it all felt so rushed. Didn't really get a sense about what to do. Am going to investigate the midwife clinic further...it just sounds so lovely. I have a friend a midwife and she is always singing their praises, although she is biased!
Once I get my head around the fact I am going to have a baby I should be able to enjoy it more! It's all I can think about at the moment!
Best of luck to you too!

We miscarried last summer so we're a wee bit nervous as well as excited! Had a terrible experience with **** St before so thinking of going to Rotunda....would be interested to hear any advice on this!

Portlaois is the closest and easiest to get to for me and I have been told by a good few people that the staff are brilliant...I'm still trying to get use to the idea that i'm finally pregnant..I'm very emotional tonight but i think that could be that i haven't had a ciagarette in 2 days and i'm finding it difficult..

Hi all, had to lie through my teeth last night when out with friends as to why I was driving!! It's very hard at this stage not being able to tell anyone. I find it must be hard not knowing whether you'll get in to your chosen hospital, I am very lucky here in the West as there are no waiting lists Thank God..... Keep smiling and talk soon
