Shazz not sure about Quinn but if there is a medical reason ( back in bits) they can be done publicly but again would imagine its a long wait.

My sister is getting one done and her GP gave her all the info she needed. Not sure if Quinn cover it but you may be aboe to claim back on the Med1 form, worth checking it out with the revenue.

Not sure about Quinn covering it - maybe they would if its for medical reasons rather than cosmetic i.e. back problems, mental stress etc.
I had reduction myself about 3 years ago now. I was 32J and went down to 32DD - it was the best thing i've ever done and i'm only sorry I didn't do it sooner. I had no kids at the time and so was in the lucky position that I could sit on my backside and recover properly, doing absolutely nothing, which is what they recommend - and I recovered fine with no problems at all. My sister on the other hand had it done a short while before me and was running around after 2 small kids - she got infection after infection and took ages to heal and now has bad scarring so her experience was a very bad one. If you are getting it done my main advice to you would be to make sure you have someone to help you for 2 or 3 weeks, at least, so that you have time to heal - I can't stress how important that is.

You can have it done publicly and I don't think the waiting list is that long - sister had it done publicly so I will pick her brain for you. As far as I know, if your waiting more than 6 months for the op on the public waiting list they send and pay for you to have it done privately. At least, they did when my sister had it done - not sure if that will have changed with the recession.

I went on a bit of a ramble there but I would highly recommend having the reduction. You will be delighted with the results. If you want to ask me anything else about it I will be happy to fill you in.

Hi!!

Just called her and she said she contacted her GP who sent a letter of recommendation to a surgeon on her behalf. 3 months after that letter is sent you are then entitled to have it done under the Treatment Purchase Scheme (or at least you were at that time). You have to contact the scheme yourself and they must then pay for you to have it done privately within 3 months of you contacting them. So, essentially, you could have it done within the next 6 months [:)]

The only thing I will say (AGAIN) is that you really do need to rest as much as possible afterwards so if I were you I would give it a few months until Warren is walking about himself and a little bit less dependant. The scars will extend right the way round almost under your arms and your not supposed to even raise your arms above your head so just keep that in mind.

Just read that back, and I have to clarify... the scars aren't as horrific as that sounds. They are red and angry at the start, of course, but mine are hardly visible at all now and besides if you hate your huge boobs as much as I did you won't be bothered by the scars at all.

Best of luck, let me know how you get on. And as I said before, if you want to know anything else just ask.

was in with the gp last week, sent referral lett to mather, seemingly it will take up to 9 months to get appt with surgeon and then once he recommends it and have been waiting 3 months, i can then go thruogh NTPF, and should only wait 3 weeks after that, i was so motivated leavin the doctors knowing i can get it done and hopefully within a year, light at the end of the tunnel, before i had my baby i was happy-ish with my body but now have no self confidence or self esteem, feel rotten..... big push on now to lose the baby weight, will let ya know how goes, thanks again x
