the writing looks ok when writing it up but once printed up it goes very small!

Hi heather22,

The font when viewing the forum posts should be a normal size the same as on the old forum. Obviously you can change the font size in your own posts as well. I'm curious is this issue specific to you or are there other users finding the font too small. You can make the font bigger on any website by just pressing CTRL and the + key, to go back to the normal size just press CTRL and 0 (zero).

If anyone has any feedback on the font size please let us know.

Hi Gigi 08,

We have looked into the active topics being on 1 page however the problem is this could potentially mean thousands of topics trying to load on one page. So we might try just increasing the number of topics per page. We can try get a balance between the two so that for the most part the topics are on 1 page unless you choose to view active topics in the last month.

Thanks

Eumom

Hi Odac,

Your issue is seperate as it only affect moderators. The developers are working on a fix at the moment. I you want i can remove you as a moderator until it is fixed so that you can use the site as normal.

Hi murfcork,

The issue with the toddler link should now be fixed. Apologies for this glitch and thank you for your patience.

Hi Gigi 08,

It seems you know the forums better than we do as i had no idea the forum did that. We will review that functionality and hopefully restore it on the new forum. It's a different forum completely from the old one so there are some features that we will have to add back in. The old forum was great, but unfortunately not compatible with the new website, hence the new forum. Thanks for letting us know.

Regards

Eumom

Hi Eumom - I love the new emoticons but I really miss the "embaressed face" and the "angry" and "disappointed" ones! I didnt realise how much I used them before lol! Any chance of getting them reinstated?!

Have just noticed this thread and wanted to add my bit. 1st day using the new format had loads of problems, but I notice now that most, if not all of those have been rectified, so wanted to say thanks for that.

Just a couple of things, as someone else mentioned, the smileys don't show a great range of emotion. Maybe one smiling, one tongue out, one shocked. I think these are the ones I used to use most.
Also, in the reply box when you hit return, the lines seem to be double spaced, yet when it posts, both paragraphs are squished together. If they didn't appear double spaced in the text box I'm more likely to hit return twice IYKWIM.
Also, lastly (but deffo not least). It seems VERY slow!! When I click 'post' after writing a reply, it says loading for so long that I give up and either post again, or just change the page. I've stopped hitting post again now because I've realised that the text seems to post, but the page just doesn't load. I tried looking at forums using the internet on my phone but it crashed the whole phone the twice I've tried since the changes. I'm not sure if this is eumom or something wrong with my phone though.

OK, glad all that's off my chest, just want to say again, thanks for all the other changes, and I totally approve of the topic heading only showing pg1... last 3 pages. It was annoying scrolling through the 1000+ pages ov the ovulation thread in TTC.

Hi Eumom moderators,

Firstly, congrats on an aesthetically pleasing new website!

Now I don't wanna sound like a moaner but I do have a bit of a problem with the site! I have tried several times on different occasions to copy and paste the roll call for the Dec 2010 birth club so that all the newbies can add their names to it but it keeps sending me the 'oops' message.

Please can you look into this and see if it can be fixed. Thanks

Hi  KarenT09,

We think there is an issue with copying and pasting from Microsoft Word or similar into a post. Can you confirm that you are pasting from Word?

Till we get it fixed it would be best to paste from notepad or similar. Or you can paste from word to notepad and then paste from notepad to the forum. Hopefully this will help till we get it fixed.

Thanks

Eumom

I'm only using the site a few months, so the changes are not so dramatic as I am still learning things about the site anyway!

One thing that I can't seem to do is look back at the forums that I had posted on previously. I did like that you can see who is looking at what, but that is just me being nosey and it is something that I can do without. Although it was handy to check on who said what... again, just my curiosity and big brother has enough of our lives covered as it is...

Hi MMIM,

You should still be able to look back at the forums you have posted on previously. If you click on your name as it appears beside you posts you will get a menu. Select user profile. Click the view last 10 posts to see your last 10 posts. There is also a button to view all posts. Give that a go and let us know if that is what you mean.

Hi Everyone,

We have been so busy making changes based on your feedback that i can't remember what i updated you on last. Previously viewed posts/topics now show up in pink, active topics now has 100 topics per page to make life easier. We will get the extra smiles requested as soon as we can.

We are also working on fixing problems with posting via a mobile browser and pasting from word.

Thanks everyone

Eumom

Thanks for the prompt reply. But unfortunately that is what I am doing (clicking on my name - or anyone elses), but nothing is happening. I had no problems with the old webside.

I'm with Mozilla Firefox btw.

Hi MMIM,

I have checked in all browsers, it should be working. You could try updating to the latest version of firefox but it should be fine. Here is the direct link which might help

Thanks for the link. It works perfectly.

When I move my curser over my name that link comes up on the status bar at the bottom of my screen. I click on my name but nothing happens. When I move the curser off the name 'done' comes up on the status bar. All very strange (bit like me really!!)

I am not sure what version firefox I am on, but I only downloaded it about 2 months ago...

Thanks eumom for the changes made already. I know you said you will get to the problem with mobile browsers. I just wanted to let you know that my phone has stopped dying everytime I go near eumom, I even managed to log in and look at the forums. However, I tried a quick post earlier (just couldn't wait to share my news) and after a while it said on my phone "cannot redirect" so I just closed it. When I logged on this evening, I realised that not only had my comment posted, it had posted 16 times!! Pretty annoying having to delete 15 posts, and anyone who looked at it before I got to it must have thought I was a right looper!

Just wanted to let you know the problems. TIA

Hi Eumom, thanks for all the updates!

I'm having a problem copying the colours and font style of posts. Is this a problem across the board, or could it just be a problem with Safari?

Thanks!

Hi glad2bmom,

We got a sleepy face? Though it looks more posh to me. We'll do our best to get something better.

Cheers

What about a green smiley, to stand for 'envy'?

What does flapper mean? And Razz? And woot?

I think it looks great! However, my one little moan is that when viewing active topics since last visit, say there's four pages of them, if I'm on the 3rd page and I go into view a message, when I go back, it takes me back to the 1st page again instead of where I was before. I have to say I find that very frustrating. So far, my workaround is to open that message in a new window (by holding down the Ctrl key when clicking with my mouse). However, I haven't tried to post a reply yet that way so I don't know if that'll only work for reviewing.

But the site looks really contemporary. Well done!

hi eumom. I seem to be having problems posting my replies. It can take 7/8 goes. When I go to post my post it says my session has timed out. driving me nuts Any ideas why this could be ?? I use firefox - something to do with this maybe???

also - feel like a moaning marge here but is there any way when we reply to a post we could see more posts than at present from the other posters -hope this makes sense. When replying on our moms form I cant for the life remember what ever1 has said whereas b4 we could scroll way back and see what every1 had said. handy for a  dim wit like me

Hi Eumom - I'm having a few problems wth my PMs! Even when my inbox and outbox are emtpy I get  msg saying my inbox is full and it wont send the PM. Or sometimes it will insist I use the FIND USERS button even when I know the Eumom I'm writing to.
Even when I do that it wont send on the message! With the result that I'm re-typing the same message several times cos there doesnt appear to be a save draft option to save me from typing everything out again!
I often get posts from worried Eumoms about PND and it upsets me if I cant answer them within a reasonable amount of time - especially if they need  reassurance! Maybe I'm just a big dope and there's a simple solution so if there is PLEASE tell me what it is before I pull all my hair out!
