When Sudocrem sent us their latest product (Sudocrem Sunscreen Mousse) to review last month we were very excited, Sudocrem are one of our favourite partners! Luckily the sun was shining that week and our top tester Aisling (mum of 3) was thrilled to give it a go.

I found the mousse absorbed really easily and formed a non-greasy layer over the skin which is not too thick (for an SPF 50). It has a really nice smell but is perfume free, sometimes after applying sunscreen my kids are all sticky and unhappy but this didn’t seem to happen which explains the ‘lets the skin breathe bit’.

I am a massive Sudocrem fan and have it all over the house for little bums, breakouts, cuts etc. and the new Sunscreen Mouse has just taken up residency in my changing bag!

Top tips on ensuring your kids skin is protected from the sun:

  • Always apply a sunscreen that's specially formulated for children - before they go outside Cover generously and reapply frequently, avoid direct sunlight between the hours of 11am and 3pm
  • Remember that even winter sun can burn the skin, on a sunny day and in high altitude apply sunscreen even in winter
  • Steer clear of harsh chemicals on the skin, use products that are hypoallergenic, free from parabens, preservative, perfumes, colours and additives
  • Always keep babies and very young children out of direct sunlight
  • Sunscreen must have UVB protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 and UVA protection. We recommend using a sunscreen with factor 50 and a superior UVA rating
  • Re-apply sunscreen every couple of hours during a day in the sun, especially if they are in and out of water

Ann Marie, mum to Isobelle (6 mths) says ‘I did feel very confident that Isobelle was very well protected with this product, it’s a great suncream (oops, mousse) for kids and babies. Thank you for introducing it to me.’
